The RIM and Pearl District aren’t the only popping areas of San Antonio. Several new businesses are headed for the city’s Far Westside along Loop 1604 over the next few months, suggesting a continued real estate boom in this part of town.
From national grocery chains to Texas-based beverage companies, folks in the area have a lot to look forward to.
New Target in San Antonio
A roughly 148,356 square foot store will soon anchor the Southwest corner of Marbach Road and Loop 1604, a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filing cites. Not only is this the company’s first new local store since 2012, but it will be larger than the average-sized store, estimated at 125,000 square feet, the company’s website states.
Crews will begin working at the property in April 2026 and are expected to finish up tasks at the site by March 19, 2027, according to the TDLR. Investors are betting big on its success. Roughly $21.3 million is being poured into the project. Agents who previously marketed the land said it’s a “thriving location” that is “strategically positioned to capture exposure to the daily Loop 1604 traffic.”
HTeaO continues expansion with Loop 1604 store
Soon, locals will also have new spaces to pick up snacks and sweet beverages. An HTeaO, which serves coffee, energy drinks, and teas, is being built at 2430 West Loop 1604 South. Construction on it began in February and was expected to be complete in August. However, a Google Search indicates it has not opened yet.
This is thanks to CBRE, a global commercial real estate company, which has a slew of developments planned for the western end of Marbach Road. In total, the firm plans to host businesses on roughly 280 acres of land across three miles of Loop 1604.
Taco Bell to start construction on another San Antonio restaurant
Taco Bell is also planning a new location in this area, though an exact address has not been confirmed in its TDLR report. Construction on the structure is expected to begin in early January 2026 and will likely finish on September 30, 2026.
Public records cite that the $1.2 million restaurant will be roughly 2,319 square feet in size.
