At HTeaO, President Heath Nielson said successful franchisees are heavily involved in their communities.

“Sustainable growth comes from the inside out,” Nielsen said over email. “When you’re embedded in the community, you understand what it values, how it operates and how to make an authentic impact. That’s been the foundation of our business since day one.”

HTeaO more than doubled its unit count from 2022 to 2024, up 67 to 131 stores. That’s a 104.7 percent increase in three years. Sales followed suit, up to $116 million in 2024 from $51 million in 2022, a jump of 127.2 percent.

The iced tea franchise, like many brands in the food and beverage space, is focused on value and industry trends to drive traffic.

“Our guests know they can count on premium products at an affordable price,” Nielsen said. “We’ve leaned into innovation to keep the brand fresh and relevant, introducing limited-time flavors and handcrafted beverages inspired by emerging trends.”

As it ramps up, HTeaO is seeking multi-unit franchisees but, Nielsen continued, “our goal is to grow with our communities, not just in them.”
